Wednesday Update - 10/16/24

CONGRATULATIONS!

We would like to send Congratulations to our Howard County Sports Award Recipients! They were honored on Tuesday 10/15 at the Howard County Sports Award Banquet! 

We congratulate John Moses (travel and competition team member) and Alex McManuels (travel and competition team member) for being awarded the JumpRope Sport Players to represent Howard County and the Kangaroo Kids.

We want to recognize Coach Hayden Thomas for the Coach Sport of Jump Rope Award, Tom McManuels for all the administrator items he gives to the sport of jump rope behind the scenes, and John Moses (dad) for the Official in Jump Rope Sport Award for all the judging, and volunteering for the sport of jump rope.

We are grateful for all they do for our program to continue to succeed and grow!

FUNDRAISERS

RESTAURANT NIGHT: Our next restaurant night is at Honeygrow in Columbia on Friday, 10/18 (no school!) from 10:30am to 10pm. PLAN AHEAD! Let's make this fundraiser a great one!

End: 11/20/2024 - orders due to Nicole Meek or Laura Moses

Product Delivery Date: About 7-14 business days after orders are due in.

Collect orders and cash/check made payable to Kangaroo Kids.

Each jumper has been allotted one free ticket, if you know your jumper cannot attend, please add that to the sign up, so I can give their free ticket to someone else, thank you!

• 2/2/25 (Sun) Travel Team: UMD Women's Halftime show, TBD (sign up released later)

• 2/2/25 (Sun) Performing Team: Women in Sports at NLCC 11am-2pm (sign up released later)

• 3/8/25 (Sat) Travel Team: UMD Men's halftime show, game at 3 pm, so bus likely at 1:30, must ride bus (sign up released later)

• 5/03/25 (Sat) Perf and Trav Teams: show in Virginia, bus trip, details TBD

NEED TO KNOW: 10/24-10/31

• Early Voting week will be at the MAC from Thursday, Oct 24 - Thursday, Oct 31. Open daily until 8 pm each night. Plan on seeing lots of cars, lots of signs, lots of people waving signs. 

• Thurs Oct 24, competition team will only have one volleyball court. (Think like classes, one third of the side). 

• Fri Oct 25, WE HAVE A SHOW. IF WE NEED TO MEET, WE NEED TO MEET AT PARK N RIDE, we do not have court space at the MAC. 

• Sun Oct 27, COMPETITION PRACTICE AT RCC

• Mon Oct 28, normal practice time and court space, just lots of people around

• Tues and Wed, CLASSES AS USUAL

• Thurs Oct 31. NO COMPETITION PRACTICE
