Parent Meetings: Back to Jump Rope Night!

Mark your calendars now! We expect one parent or guardian from each jumper to attend. Meet the board, review expectations and the handbook, ask questions, and meet the other parents.

Performing Team

Wed, Sept 16 at 5:45 pm. Come inside the MAC; we will meet there.

Travel Team

Monday, Sept 14 at 5:30 pm. Come inside the MAC; we will meet there.

Competition Team

Virtual meeting because we are waiting on information for competitions and related details. MONDAY, SEPT 21 at 7:15 pm. Join the meeting to discuss tournaments and more, and ask questions.

Financial Assistance Through Howard County

HCRP would like families to know that forms are available to parents and families who need financial assistance with HCRP programs. All information is through Howard County.

Uniforms

Travel, Performing, and Competition teams all wear navy shorts. Each jumper must have one pair, but families may purchase multiple pairs. Please order as soon as possible so jumpers are prepared when shows begin.

Family Service Hours

Each family is required to perform 3 hours of service per semester, per jumper, per team. Opportunities are provided in the weekly emails. Sign up through SignupGenius; you can start earning hours now.

Help at the Beginning of Classes

Kangaroo Kids offers weekly classes at the MAC each Tuesday and Wednesday. Families check in jumpers and receive name tags at the front table.

We need one parent volunteer every Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:30–6:45 pm. If you can only arrive at 4:45 pm, that is fine. These count as service hours. Coach Nicole Meek will be there and needs another person to help. Please choose as many dates as you would like.

Registration

Registration is due. After the due date, anyone who has not registered will be removed from Wednesday emails. Please contact Nicole with any registration questions.

Additional Mandatory Paperwork

PRINT IT OUT NOW AND PUT IT IN THE JUMPER’S JUMP ROPE BACKPACK. TURN IT IN THE FIRST TIME THEY COME TO THE MAC FOR A MEETING OR PRACTICE.

• Print, complete, and turn in the Participant Information Form (PIF). If a jumper is on Competition Team and another team, submit two completed PIF forms. If you do not have printer access, forms will be available at the first practice and must be completed before the jumper can participate.

• Print the HCRP form allowing a jumper to leave practice without an adult. Submit one per jumper.

• Complete the required photo release online; no printing is required. Submit one for each jumper, each parent who is also on Competition Team, and all coaches.

• Complete the Outside Activity Form online; no printing is required.

Outside Activity Form Details

Any jumper whose school function, class, job, or transportation will affect practice attendance or cause late arrival should complete this form. Kangaroo Kids keeps a compiled list at practices, so families do not need to email absent@kangarookids.org each time.

This form is not for doctor appointments or similar one-time conflicts. It is for recurring school activities such as band or drama, an outside job, or other known conflicts with established dates and times.

All of these events are on the Google Calendar. Once SignupGenius and photo links are created and times are confirmed, that information will be included in emails and added to the calendar.

Restaurant Fundraiser Night

Our September fundraiser will be at Chipotle on Sept 30. More information is coming.
