Kangaroo Kids Wednesday Update – September 2, 2026

Practice and Class Schedule

No practices Sunday Sept 6 or Monday Sept 7 because of the Labor Day holiday.

Travel Team starts this Friday, Sept 4 from 4–6 pm. Don’t forget your forms.

Classes begin Tues and Wed Sept 8 and 9.

Performing Team begins Wed Sept 9. Don’t forget to bring your sign-in and sign-out form and PIF forms.

Service Hours Possibilities

Count Ribbons and Medals

Two parents are needed to count the bin of ribbons and the bin of medals. This can be done at the MAC while your jumper is in class, during a practice, or by taking the bin home. Both are large tote bins; the ribbon bin is lighter and the medal bin is heavy.

This needs to be completed by or close to Sept 11 so additional ribbons and medals can be ordered as needed.

You MUST pick up the bin while jumpers are at the MAC; you cannot come at another time. You may also complete the counting during a practice.

Attendance Table

Help at the attendance table on Tuesdays or Wednesdays: sign up for an attendance-table shift.

HELP IS REALLY NEEDED AT THE BEGINNING OF CLASSES ON TUES SEPT 8. Please see whether you are available to help that Tuesday.

Travel, Performing & Competition Teams 2025–26: Help Desk – Week 1, Tues Sept 8

Uniforms

Travel, Performing, and Competition teams all wear navy shorts. Each jumper must have one pair, but families may purchase multiple pairs. Please order as soon as possible so jumpers are prepared when shows begin.

• Men’s: DSG Brand Men’s 7-inch Stride Shorts in University Navy

• Girls’: DSG Brand Girls’ Stride Shorts in University Navy

• Boys’: DSG Brand Boys’ Agility Shorts in University Navy Heather

For families new to Performing Team, the uniform coordinator is Jill Calhoun. Contact her at ndfamily05@verizon.net. She will be at the Performing Team parent meeting on Wed Sept 16 at 5:45.

Mark your calendars now. We expect one parent or guardian from each jumper to attend. Meet the board, review expectations and the handbook, ask questions, and meet the other parents.

Competition Team

This will be a virtual meeting because we are waiting on information for competitions and related details. MONDAY, SEPT 21 at 7:15 pm. Join to discuss tournaments and more, and ask questions.

Google Drive and Calendar

Parents, Jumpers, and Coaches

Kangaroo Kids uses a Google Drive to store music, written routines, Competition Team speed scores and routine music, and board meeting minutes.

We want families to be able to access the Drive so jumpers can practice at home and print routines if they prefer. If your jumper uses a phone, tablet, or computer, please use the link to request access. You may also email their address to Nicole so it can be added.

Google Calendar

Kangaroo Kids uses one Google Calendar for practices, shows, and related dates. Please add it to your calendar, or send Nicole an email address if you have difficulty.

All of these events are on the Google Calendar. As SignupGenius and photo links are created and times are confirmed, that information will be included in emails and added to the calendar.

How Signing Up for Shows Works for New Families

• Upcoming shows are listed in the weekly email. Open the SignupGenius to see the address, arrival time, and other important information.

• You do not need to wait for a coach to ask. If you are on Performing Team and have a uniform, you are ready to sign up.

• SignupGenius sends a reminder to the email used for registration two days before the event.

• If you remove your jumper’s name after the reminder has been sent, email Nicole to let her know.

• If a jumper is signed up but does not attend the show, they receive a -1 deduction in show credit.

• More information will be reviewed at the parent meetings.
