Hello!
THIS WEEKEND IS FALL BACK! Please remember to set your clocks back one hour on Sunday at 2 am.
COMPETITION TEAM AND TRAVEL TEAM:
We need some parent volunteers to be the "table help" at practices on some Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays for November and December. We need to have an adult at these practices. There will be a note left with how to take attendance and what to do while at practices. Please sign up as you can. (You are not coaching, just there for the support of the coach and the safety of jumpers). These will count as service hours, and when complete, you turn in the service hours on the google form.
Travel & Performing & Competition Teams 2025-26: November and December Jump Rope Practice Volunteers
COMPETITION TEAM:
AMJRF Numbers - PLEASE WORK ON MEMBERSHIPS, very few are in the document
The calendar has been updated to reflect that Zero Hour scheduled in Jan will not be happening this year. Unfortunately, Hop Skip Jump lost their reservation in the school. We are working on having a mock tournament within our own team, as this was to be the first tournament for Joey Club. More info soon.
Reminder: if your jumper would like to participate in Joey Club. Please email info@kangarookids.org
Sunday, November 2, is when the Sunday practices change over to being at RCC. THAT IS THIS COMING SUNDAY! This is on our google calendar.
TRAVEL AND PERF TEAM:
End of class shows will be on Tuesday Dec 2 and Wednesday Dec 3.
We will need parent volunteers to help sell merchandise at both. These count as service hours!
For performing team - yes, you can sign up for Tuesday Dec 2 show. It counts as a show credit, you come in full uniform. Parents can drop them off at 4:45 and pick them up at 6:45, or you can come in and watch shows, or sign up to volunteer. Wednesday, there is no sign up. We EXPECT every performing team jumper to be there in full uniform on the Wednesday.
Travel team, you also sign up for Tues and Wed class shows.
There are slots if you are a coach, and slots to just sign up for show.
Also no travel team practice 10/31.
PARENTS - Need service hours?
We are looking for 2 parents to come in on Thursday 11/06 at 4:30. You will open box of shirts, sort sizes, put names and team names on a tag, and sort by teams coming to workshop

If your jumper needs the navy blue sweatshirt, because, 1) they do not have the warmups, they will need this to wear instead or 2) your jumper gets cold under their warmups and they want another layer, this is the layer to wear, just the navy colored KK sweatshirt, not another sweatshirt, when we are in full uniform

JUMPERS IN HIGH SCHOOL- THIS IS FROM COACH TORI:
Virginia Tech is hosting collegiate summit this year, April 10-12. I'll be there judging and helping out. If any of the kkids (particularly high schoolers) are interested in going, they are welcome to help judge. AMJRF certification is NOT required, since Summit is just for fun! Many people only judge speed, but any experienced jumper is welcome to judge freestyle (it's based entirely on vibes, 1-10 for difficuly and 1-10 for presentation). The link to show interest in judging is HERE. More info on summit will be HERE. Things like hotel blocks, schedule, etc will be added to that link when it gets closer. Could be a fun way to tour the school and learn about collegiate jumprope! I would love if you shared this with travel and competition team!

CHANGE IN ORGANIZATION:
If you were not on the board google meet this month, you may have missed this announcement. Coach Nicole is using this year to step back from being head coach of travel team, head coach of competition team, and Director. She still will be the admin coordinator, and in charge of classes on Tues and Wed. She will still email you each Wed, and still be your point of contact. You will just see her less at shows as we transition some coaches into show coaches, and less at traveling competitions while others become coach of record at tournaments. The interim director is Megan Davis, and she can be reached vicepresident@kangarookids.org. If you have any questions, please contact President Paul Scott president@kangarookids.org or Megan.
